How to install older version of Google Maps than the stock version (9.32.1) in OnePlus 3? Sep 21, 2016

   With the latest Google Maps version (9.37.2), I am unable to see all my starred locations till-date in 'Your Places' in the Maps app. So for that reason, I have also created a new thread on the Google Maps forum (refer below link).

   But now I want to try installing older Maps versions beyond the stock version (9.32.1) on OnePlus 3, which can help me see all my starred locations.

   I have no such problems with the aforementioned version of google maps. Try deleting app data, or reinstall(after uninstalling).

   Btw, there are many such threads on that forum on this extact issue.

   It's just that I want to try installing older versions which might help.

   Just google the app name with version number, you can get what you want, if you are ready to install unathenticated app from third party resources.

   I had already tried to install older version with "unknown sources" enabled in Settings.

   But that doesn't get installed and gives me this error.

   This is because we are only able to "disable" the stock version (9.32.1) on OnePlus 3 and unable to uninstall the stock version.

   So what is the workaround to first be able to uninstall stock version and then be able to install 'any' older version apk files of Google maps?

   not that i know of to remove system stock apps you need root

   No you need root. not possible to revome the application completely without root.

   Root > Delete > Sideload > unroot

   Though you'll get it back as soon as you update the rom.

    No, the problem here is you cannot downgrade apps in Android without:
    

    • Patching the system APK installer (requires root)
    • Changing the version code of the old app and resigning it with Google's signature (impossible)
    • Uninstalling the old version (which requires root)
    • Changing the package name of the old app to install it alongside the new app

    You could try changing the package name of the old version of Google Maps you are trying to install.

    Download and install every version you'd like. Make sure the current Google Maps app has been removed from your device before installing another version. Eventually, use a tool to remove it.

    I don't think you understood what I asked for in my last msg. Kindly read entire thread thoroughly please.

    I had already tried to install older version. But now based on @G_Andy_Bao_(nulldev)_uer suggestion, I want to know how to changethe package name of the old version of Google Maps? So that am able to parallely instal along side the OP3's stock version of maps. As neither am I going to root nor can i uninstall the stock maps app on my OP3. Thanks!
